In May 2019, Brett Patman’s photo essay “Beauty in ruins: the wonder of abandoned buildings” ran in The Guardian’s Art and Design section, accompanied by a gallery of photographs from the Lost Collective archive. It remains the project’s widest press placement.

“One day I stopped at a vast abandoned factory I passed on my way home from work. There was a long section of fence missing. I wandered in, camera in hand, and that moment was the unofficial beginning of Lost Collective.”
