A corridor leads toward a glass-block wall at the far end, where a sign reading "Auditorium" hangs at an angle. Graffiti covers every surface. Ceiling panels sag or are missing entirely, exposing fixtures and wiring above. Broken furniture, cardboard, fabric, and plaster litter the floor. Light enters through the glass blocks and the gaps overhead, falling grey and flat across the debris. The air looks thick with dust. Balmain Leagues Club opened in 1957 on Victoria Road, Rozelle, serving as the social headquarters of the Balmain Tigers rugby league club. The venue housed function rooms, bars, and this auditorium. Financial difficulties forced closure in 2009. The building sat derelict until demolition in 2016.
