About this print
Teal doors numbered 25, 26, 27. Cream brick and blonde sandstock columns divide each room into identical bays. Grey curtains hang flat behind plate glass. A wrought iron bench sits outside room 27, flanked by clipped box hedges in brick planters. The concrete carpark stretches wide and empty. Overhead, a corrugated steel awning runs the full length of the block. Deep blue dusk presses down behind a wall of mature trees.

The series
Hotel Motel 101
Hotel Motel 101 is a series of one hundred and one motels photographed in 2018 across three runs out of Sydney. North to the Central Coast, west through the Blue Mountains to the central western tablelands, south down the NSW South Coast. The count crept up from a planned seventy toward the round number, plus one for safety.
