This was the dispatch area, where trains were loaded with cement before heading out for delivery. On the left stands the cement mill, once a powerhouse of production, and on the right, the stock house, where the finished product was stored.
At the center of the frame, the green building is the turbine house, built in 1912. It once powered the entire works, as well as the towns of Kandos and Rylstone, before being decommissioned in 1993. A key piece of industrial history, now left to time.
With its bold composition and striking contrast between past industry and nature’s slow reclamation, this print makes a statement in any space.
