Green Cape Lighthouse stands on its headland on the far south coast of New South Wales, marking the southern entry to the Tasman Sea. The 1883 masonry tower no longer carries the active light; the smaller steel-framed structure beside it does. Photographed under the Milky Way.

The white-painted tower rises from below, its tapered column filling the frame against a dense field of stars. The Milky Way's galactic centre sprawls across the sky, thick with gas and dust. Small square windows punctuate the shaft. An iron railing rings the lantern room at the top. The render is clean, the edges sharp where light catches the masonry.
