From the field notes
A low single-storey building stretches across an empty car park. Cracked brown pavement. Faded white line markings. The façade carries bright hand-painted murals of cartoon characters, hot air balloons, and marching figures. Japanese text reads "Tabi no Omoide Omiyage House" - Travel Memories Souvenir House. Roller shutters seal the right side. The central entrance sits dark and open. Bare silver birch trees stand behind the roofline against heavy grey cloud.
