From the field notes
Rusted steel cladding covers the gable end of a timber-framed house. The metal sheets have oxidised to deep brown and orange, with patches of original colour still visible near the roofline. Blue trim lines the eaves. Ground-floor windows are clouded with grime and curtain remnants. Dead knotweed and scrub press against the walls. Debris litters the wet ground. The sky is flat and grey. Conifers stand tall behind the structure, dwarfing it.
