From the field notes
A concrete danchi block stands at the centre of a curved road, its stairwell tower painted with faded teal and maroon circles. The kanji 夢 sits near the roofline. Bare birch trees line the verge. Puddles collect in cracked asphalt. Low corrugated carports flank the building. More apartment blocks extend left and right, their balconies empty. Brown hills rise behind, stripped of leaves under heavy cloud.
