A grid of Bakelite light switches remains mounted to the wall, each paired with a stamped metal label indicating its purpose in the downstairs area of the Terminus Hotel.
The panel is worn but largely intact, with switches marked for the left and right parlour, lavatory, hall, and all three bar areas. A single white switch stands out among the dark fittings, slightly yellowed with age. Dust clings to the edges, and the original wiring is still visible, snaking out beneath the frame.
It’s a quiet piece of infrastructure that once brought the building to life at the flick of a switch.
This print preserves the elegance of early utility design, rendered in archival quality with rich detail and tonal range on museum-grade fine art paper.
