Bold block lettering announces the Beer Garden and Bar-B-Q Snack Bar above a classic advertisement for Tooths and Reschs, complete with a foamy schooner rendered in warm, faded tones. Despite years of exposure, the paint has held remarkably well and is preserved in the shelter of the awning.
As one of the few surviving examples of original pub advertising in Pyrmont, it’s a rare link to a time when hand-painted signs were a familiar part of Sydney’s streetscape.
