The original staircase of the Terminus Hotel, leading from the downstairs foyer to the upper-level guest rooms.
Crafted from imported hardwood, the stair’s craftsmanship is still visible beneath layers of dust and timeworn carpet. Flakes of green and white paint cling to the surrounding walls, peeling away to reveal the patchwork history of decades past. Beneath the steps, a boarded door once opened out to the beer garden, now sealed shut with makeshift reinforcements.
This was a space of arrival and return, where guests crossed paths and climbed toward a night’s rest above the bustle below.
Printed with museum-grade archival pigments on textured fine art paper, this piece captures the architectural grace and quiet wear of a staircase built to last.
