04 FROM THE FIELD NOTES

A narrow hallway leads toward a cluttered room. Wallpaper peels from both walls in thick, curling sheets, exposing bare timber beneath. Crumpled newspapers carpet the floor. Through the doorframe, a bright green plastic container sits among scattered tins, cardboard boxes and overturned furniture. A small framed picture still hangs on the far wall. Curtain fabric clings to a window frame. Daylight enters from the left, cold and flat.
