04 FROM THE FIELD NOTES

A corrugated steel water tank sits tight against the back corner of a timber outbuilding. The galvanised surface has dulled to a flat grey-green. Moss and small shrubs grow from the rim where rainwater has pooled and stagnated. Weatherboard cladding on the shed wall has split and peeled back from its frame, exposing bare timber underneath. Nails rust in place. The ground is damp, the grass thick and untended.
