A low corrugated iron ceiling presses down over a single room. Timber-lined walls, a brick fireplace with a cast iron stove set into the hearth. The bench along the left wall holds plastic containers, enamel plates, old magazines, a kettle thick with grime. Debris covers the floorboards. Plaster has fallen in grey chips. A calendar still hangs on the far wall. Daylight spills through the open doorway, green scrub visible beyond it.
