The brass mail slot, tarnished and still, marks a silent opening in the derelict post office wall. Dust gathers on the metal plate, a forgotten conduit for countless messages. It now holds only shadow.

About this print
A galvanised letter slot sits cut into weatherboard cladding, its narrow mouth open to darkness. The timber around it has split and warped, pulling away from the metal surround. Rust blooms on the screws. The boards are grey and dry, their grain lifted by decades of sun and rain. Chicken wire is tacked across the upper right corner where a section has given way.
