04 FROM THE FIELD NOTES

Collapsed timber framing covers the floor of what was the main bedroom. Fibrous insulation and plaster debris sit in thick drifts across every surface. The walls are bare slab timber, bark peeling away in long curls, exposing darkened wood beneath. A torn blue tarp hangs over one window opening. Corrugated iron buckles inward on the left wall. Light enters low and sideways through the gaps.
