A derelict bed frame occupies a former residential quarter within an abandoned post office. Peeling paint and crumbling plaster mark the wall above, revealing layers of forgotten history.

04 FROM THE FIELD NOTES

A bare mattress fills most of the narrow room. Grey quilted fabric, thick with dust and mould spores. The walls are lined with layers of old newspaper, peeling away from rough timber framing. A wooden wardrobe stands against the right wall, its doors slightly ajar. At the far end, a small window lets in a wedge of green daylight. Bush branches press against the glass. The ceiling sits low, just overhead. The air looks heavy and damp.
