A rusted wire fence frames the silent, decaying facade of the old post office. Sunlight catches the corroded metal, hinting at the building's forgotten past as it slowly surrenders to time.

04 FROM THE FIELD NOTES

Weathered timber cladding, silver-grey and split along the grain. The corrugated iron roof is more rust than metal, its surface mottled white and orange. A curved bullnose verandah sags over the front entrance. Small-pane windows sit either side of a narrow door, one cracked, both darkened. Bare fruit trees press close to the building. Green shoots push through dead grass at the foundations. Fallen sheets of iron lean against the far wall.
