The red silicon flask on the right of the top plate was designed to safely lower silicon billets into the reactor for irradiation. Positioned directly over the silicon facility, it ensured precise handling of materials during reactor operation.
At the centre of the top plate, the smaller middle plugs cover the 25 fuel elements housed within the reactor. Surrounding them are the Coarse Control Arms (CCAs), three on each side with six in total, each equipped with its own gearbox. These arms were fundamental in regulating the nuclear reaction, allowing for controlled operation.
Along the back wall, the ventilation ducts played a crucial role in maintaining air quality and safety within the containment structure.
